William Irvin “Bill” Mullis, age 84, of Bolivia, NC passed away on Saturday, the twenty fifth of September 2021 in the Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center.
Born in Mt. Holly, NC on the twenty-eighth of June 1937, Bill was one of four children born to the late Henry Irvin and Hazel Grindstaff Mullis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and two grandchildren. Bill was a charter member of the Brunswick Islands Baptist Church, active in the Loaves and Fishes ministry for many years. Bill was a retired painter and a proud US Navy veteran. His greatest joys were sharing his life with Marviean and sharing his love for fishing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife Marviean McGinnis Mullis; a son, Tim Mullis (Lisa) of Dallas, NC; three daughters, Trena Boldt (Martin) of Lemoore, CA, Ponee Lowery of Bolivia, Nickie West of Holden Beach; a sister, Raquel Alwran of Greensboro NC; ten grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday the tenth of October 2021 in the Brunswick Islands Baptist Church with military honors and The Reverend Keith McKinney and The Reverend Lonnie Varnam officiating.
