Trilby Barber Turner Holcomb, 87, of Holden Beach, NC passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 in the Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center following a time of declining health.
Born in Forest City, NC on February 5, 1938, Trilby was a daughter of the late Forrest Ives Barber, Jr., and Kathleen Bailey Barber. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, William Ellis Turner, Jr., and 2nd, husband, Hubert Lee Holcomb, and a daughter, Trilby Kathleen Turner.
A devout Christian with a deep faith in God, she served in several different rolls during her life to mentor others and share the Word.
Surviving are her daughter, Tracy T. Coleman and husband Wade, their children, Turner Coleman and wife Jennifer, their children, Turner, Emma and William; Elliott C. Lowe and children, Isabel, Preston, Ives and Crew; step-daughter, Tiffany Hughes and husband Richard, step-son, Brandon Coleman; her son, William Ellis “Bill” Turner, III, his wife Kimberly Joy, their children, Will Turner, Austin Turner, Blake Turner and Randi Kittle;. Mrs. Trilby’s stepchildren, Keith Holcomb and wife Kristen, their children, Chase Holcomb and Lindsey Rothrock their children, Liam and Landen; Taylor Tapia and husband Juan, their child, Payton; Kim Mankin and husband Paul, their children, Michael Mankin and wife Kelli, their children Liberty and Finley; Kimberlee Church and husband Travis, and their son Hudson. She also leaves her siblings, Forrest “Buddy: Barber and wife Lee, their daughters, Trilby and Becky; and Elizabeth “Betty” Raper and her son Jeff.
Funeral services will be conducted at 5:00 PM, on Sunday, June 1, 2025, in the Eastside Fellowship Church, Shallotte, NC with Reverend Dr. Bobby Causey officiating. A private interment will take place in the Sunset Memorial Park/Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Forest City, NC.
There will be a public Celebration of Life service held at11:00 AM, on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in the Fathers Vinyard Church, 724 Oakland Rd. Spindale, NC 28160.
