Susan Marie Van Dorp, 70, of Supply, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, January 4th after a long battle with lung cancer. Her final moments were spent surrounded by loving family.
Born in Maumee, Ohio on June 4, 1955, Susan spent many years as homemaker, but retired from State Farm in 2017. Susan was known for her genuine interest in other people as well as her funny, lively, and creative spirit. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Susan’s family asks that she be remembered for the magic, color, and fun she brought into our lives and not the sadness of her passing.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Morrie; their children, Molli (Ken), Neely (Jack), and Alex; grandchildren Taylor, Tristan, Jasper and Glesni; and great-grandchildren Sabrina, Tyler, and Scarlet. She had a special connection with her three sisters; Lynn, Janet and Kay, all of whom survive her. She was preceded in death by her beloved father and mother, Tom and Geraldine Van Dorn.
A private ceremony will be held at Fulwood Funeral Services.
To honor Susan’s memory, and with gratitude to the support she received from both of these amazing places, the family requests donations be made in lieu of flowers to either the Duke Cancer Institute (Development Office 300 W Morgan St Suite 1000 Durham NC 27701) or Hope House Inc (334 N Allen Rd Wake Forest NC 27587).
