Steve Lunsford

Steve Lunsford, age 72, of Southport, NC passed away on Sunday the 16th of February 2020 in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, Brunswick House and a memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 PM, on Saturday, February 29, 2020 in the Dry Ponds Baptist Church, 5235 Union Church Road, Granite Falls, NC 28630.

Steve was born in Rhodhiss, NC on the 6th of December 1947 to the late Coy and Sally Anderson Lunsford. He attended the Stratford Career Institute specializing in small engine repair. Steve was a commissioner for the town of Rhodhiss, NC until 2003, he also retired from Duke Energy after 25 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Chewing, Betty Terry and a stepson, Chris Wilcox.

Surviving are his loving wife, Patricia Lunsford; sisters, Wanda Setzer, Geraldine Abernathy both of Rhodhiss, NC; brothers, David Lunsford of Rhodhiss, Willy Joe Lunsford of Cherryville, NC; a step-daughter, Tracy Williams of Southport, NC; a step-son, Jesse Wilcox of Johnson City, TN; granddaughter, Raven Brooke Warren of Oak Island, NC; grandsons, Brandon Wilcox of Southport, Tyler Wilcox of Claremont, NC, Thaddaeus Mwarangu of Southport, Matthew Mwarangu of Southport; great grandchildren, Wyatt Wilcox, Chance Wilcox of Southport, Rowan and Liam Wilcox of Claremont, NC; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews too numerous to count. To all the family, please know that Steve loved everyone of you.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, the 25th of February 2020 in the Generations Church, 4019 Executive Park Blvd., SE, Southport, NC 28461 And a memorial service will be at 3:00 PM, of Saturday the 29th of February, 2020 in the Dry Ponds Baptist Church, 5235 Union Church Road, Granite Falls, NC 28630.
