Steve Allen Babson, 66, of Whiteville, Nc passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at his home with his loving family by his side. Steve was born in Brunswick county NC on September 12th 1958, and was a son of late James Bryant and Susie Mae Griffin Babson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Silas Warren Babson, Jerry Babson, Martha Dean Fowler, James Ogal Babson, Lynda Gail Babson, Betty Jane Babson, Jackie Lane Babson and Rebecca Ann Long.
Steve was a retired dredge boat mate for many dredges including Hampton Roads, Wright and Southern Dredging. He was also a farmer his whole life. He was a volunteer for Waccamaw Fire department for many years. He loved playing guitar and fishing.
Surviving is his Partner in life is Debora Jones; siblings, Richard Babson, Willie Joe Babson, Wayne Babson, Barbara Evans, surviving children, Jeremy Babson his children Trey Babson, Shaina Pate , Hayley Mennella, McKenzie Mennella and Jase Babson, Addie Mae Knisely, her children Colin Knisely and Kaylee Knisely, Stevlin Babson, Julia Babson and her child Liam Inman, Brooke Babson Bennett, spouse Myles Bennett and their child, Zach Bennett. He had many extended family and step children and grandchildren. Step children, Kasandra Upchurch, Jennifer Ipatzi, Jamie Jones; Step grandchildren Justin Stanley, Ashleigh Whitley, Bo Upchurch, Haylie Upchurch, Darius ipatzi, Isaac ipatzi, lance ipatzi, Wyatt Ipatzi , Kallie Alexander, Andrew Jones, Alyssa Jones, and Gabriel Jones.
Memorial services will be conducted at 4pm, on Sunday, February 2nd in the New Britton Church in Ash, NC. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
