Stephen Lee Evans

Stephen Lee Evans, 76, of Supply, NC passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at his home with his loving family by his side following a lengthy illness.

Steve was born in Southport, NC on August 14, 1948, and was one of three children born to the late Harvey Lee and Suzanne Houchoupaine Evans. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia E. Boraski.

Steve was a man with a generous and caring heart and served many years in the Shallotte Volunteer Rescue Squad. He was a dedicated Little League Baseball Coach and Father Figure for many years.  He was a member of Brunswick Islands Baptist Church and was owner/operator of Evans & Sons Construction Company.

Surviving is his beloved wife of 34 years, Ida Fulford Evans; Four daughters, Crystal E. Collins (George), Jackie E. Freeman (Dan), Suzanne E. King, (Tracy), Kelly E. Smith (Matt); Two Sons, Brandon Keith Hewett (Andrea), Ian Lee Evans (Julie); a sister, Linda Hewett (R.E.); a great uncle, “Winky Evans; seventeen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. And his Beloved Coco.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in the Brunswick Islands Baptist Church with The Reverend Keith McKinney and Reverend Jerry Chesnutt officiating.
