Stephana "Steph" Melissa West

Stephana Melissa “Steph” West, age 60, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024, in the McLeod Seacoast Hospital following a short illness.

Stephana was born in Lumberton, NC, and was one of three daughters born to the late Wayne and Joyce Ivey West of Fairmont, NC. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, S. H. and Doris Sealey Moore of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, and her paternal grandparents, N. W. and Lillian Bennett West, of Warsaw, NC.

Stephana worked as a Program Coordinator in the Admissions Office at Coastal Carolina University, Conway, SC. 

As a child, Stephana was a curious little girl with many interests.  She read a lot about animals and history, and she was interested in learning other languages and cultures.  As an adult, she was able to combine all of these interests in her college studies and by traveling.  She became an advocate for

animals and lovingly adopted Costas, Scrabble, and Cooper.  But most of all, Stephana loved her family and was devoted to looking after those family members she cared for so deeply.

Surviving are her two sisters, Melody West Parnell (Michael) of Raleigh, NC, Sarabeth West of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; and two nephews, John Michael Parnell (Anna) & Weston Moore Parnell (Zoe).

In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held at this time.
