Shannon Anne Hourigan

Shannon Anne Hourigan, 58, of Shallotte, NC passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at her home. 

Shannon was born in Syracuse, NY on February 2, 1966, and was a daughter of Paul Hourigan of Carolina Shores, NC and the late Kathleen “Kate” Kline Hourigan. In addition to her mother, Shannon is predeceased by a sister, Christine McJury. Shannon worked hard to earn her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting. She became a Certified Payroll Specialist, and most recently worked as a Senior Payroll and Benefits Specialist. Shannon was strong and fiercely independent, but cared deeply for those around her, including her daughters, granddaughters, family and friends. Shannon moved to North Carolina in 2021, and enjoyed walking and biking at the beach. She was an avid dog lover and had hopes of adopting a dog soon. She loved the Yankees, crime shows, twin trees pizza and was a proud grandmother.

Surviving in addition to her father are two daughters, Ashley Corbett of Suwanee, GA, and Jacquelyn Corbett (Cory Brooks) of Syracuse, NY; a brother, Patrick Hourigan (Barbara) of Suwanee, GA; sisters, Regina McCartney of  Cincinnati, OH, Kileen Hourigan of Syracuse, NY, Bridgette Andrews (Walter) of Driftwood, TX, and Jennifer Nolan of Redmond, WA; and two grandchildren, McKadence and Annora. 

In accordance with Shannon’s wishes, a service is being planned for a later date and will be announced here when complete.
