Rosie King Evans, 91, of Bolivia, NC passed away on, Thursday, September 26, 2024, in the Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center, Bolivia, NC following complications from a stroke.
Bethelene or Beck as she was affectionately known, was born in Ash, NC on June 24, 1933, and was one of eleven children born to the late William Nesby and Annie Cliff King.
Growing up in the Ash Community, Bethelene/Beck worked as a seamstress for 35 years. She worked at Pelican’s K & D Manufacturing in Shallotte, NC and the Knitting Plant in Concord, NC. She also worked the tobacco fields in the Ash Community for many years. She was saved at a young age and Loved her Lord & Savior. She read her Bible everyday until she was not able to.
In addition to her parents, Rosie was preceded in death by her husbands, Calvin Franklin Simmons and later, Willie Don Evans; a beloved son, Yancy Franklin Simmons; three sisters, Carolyn Faye Danford, Ailene King, Blanche Parton; three brothers, William Thomas King, Samuel Edward King and Von King.
Surviving are three daughters, Wanda Robeson (Michael), Geraldine Riley & Wendy Honeycutt; three brothers, Robert King, Ronnie King, Arthur King; a sister, Annie Lou Ezzell; grandchildren, DeWayne Ottaway, Angie Martinez (Juan), Isaiah Robeson, Alejandra Ramos (Justin), Victor Ramos; and six great-grandchildren, Mikey (Sarah), Gabby, Sky, Keith, Rose and Hazel. Her beloved fur-baby, Fanny Mae. And many nieces and nephews.
She will be deeply missed by many. But the joy comes in the morning when we meet again.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, on Thursday, the 3rd of October, 2024 in New Britton Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Ezzell, Kevin Ezzell, Scott Dutton, Ray Thompson, Leon Rackley and Clark Merritts.
A time of visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service.
