Rosa Elizabeth (Sheperd) Holden

Rosa Elizabeth Sheperd Holden, 86, of Supply, NC passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026, in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, Bolivia, NC following a lengthy illness.

Born in Stanley County, NC she was a daughter of the late Virgil Clarence “Bud” Shepherd and Frances Elizabeth Dennis Shepherd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Kathy Holden.

Rosa was exemplary wife, and mother as well as an educator in the NC Public Schools.

Surviving are her loving husband of 69 years, Reverend Dale Wayne “Tex” Holden; two beloved sons, Randy Holden, Ricky Holden and wife Rebecca all of Supply; grandchildren, Brandon Holden and wife Tresa, Ryan Holden, Tripp Holden and wife Gabby and Tiffany Holden and husband Cris; great grandchildren, Weston, Anna, Matthew, Tyler, Kaliegh and Stella; a sister, Shirley Hughes and husband Howard.

In support of her wishes, the family has chosen to have her services privately in the Georgetown Holden Cemetery, Supply, NC.
