Ronald Franklin Lee

Ronald “Ron” Franklin Lee, 65, of Bolivia, NC passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, in the Lower Cape Fear Life Care, “Brunswick House”.

Born in Raleigh, NC on December 8, 1958, he was the son of the late William Dalton and Mavis Coley Lee. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Bryan Lee. 

Surviving are his beloved wife of 27 years, Kathleen “Kathie” Lee; daughters, Allison Johnson (Andrew), Eleanor Borriello (Justin) Katie Lee and stepson, Kirby Carter; grandsons, A.J and Asher Johnson; sister, Susan Nelson; sister-in-law Audrey Lee; nieces Christy Roddy (Richard), Jackie Watson (Tommy), Karen Mathieson (Jamie), and Kristina Owens (Tyler); 8 great nieces and nephews; and 1 great-great nephew.

Ron grew up in New Bern, North Carolina, where he developed a passion for sports, both as a player and coach in the local community. He was also an avid golfer. Ron balanced his athletic interests with a deep love for music, which led him to East Carolina University as a music major. He showcased his talent by performing with various bands, including a memorable summer gig with Bob Marley in Jamaica. Over the years, Ron became known as one half of the duo "Party of Two," performing alongside his wife, Kathie, and sharing their musical talents with their audiences. He was also the owner and operator of Lee Mobility and Access.

A celebration of life service will be held at the Oak Island Golf Club on October 19, 2024, from 2 - 4. In honor of Ron, attendees are encouraged to wear purple and gold.
