Robert and Linda Geers Obituary

Robert Richard Geers, 84, of Cedar Key, passed away on May 11, 2024, under care of Haven Hospice of Gainesville, FL. Linda Grace Geers 81, of Cedar Key passed away October 24, 2024, in Bolivia NC under care of Lower Cape Fear and LifeCare.

Calling hours will be 10am to 11:15 am with service of remembrance to follow on November 09, 2024, at Barber Memorial Home 428 Main St. Johnson City, NY. 

Robert and Linda are preceded in death by, Andrew and Luella Moore Armstrong, Connie Armstrong Malloy, and Junior Richards.

(Robert and Linda) is survived by Robert’s brother’s Don Geers and Jimmy Geers. Linda’s brother, William and Wife Valerie Armstrong, and Sister Frances (Toodee) husband Junior Richards. Nieces, Nephews and Great Nieces and Great nephews. Andy Armstrong wife Janice children Anastasia, Sophia and husband Lucas Almeida and Natalie Armstrong; Carrie Armstrong husband Mike Malone children Abigail, husband Chris Schumacher and baby Olive, Nick and Pierina Fisher soon to be baby Levi and Madison Fisher, Son and daughter of Connie Armstrong Malloy and James Malloy, children Sam and Rachel Malloy, Ashley Armstrong and husband Matthew Kaishian, children Ellie, Brent and Brooke Bezek. Billy Richard’s daughter Renee Kurt Richards and wife Ashley children Laken, Jax and Talon. Julie Richards and husband Kyle Loucks, children Lilly and Mary.

Robert Geers was born in Sterling NY and Graduated from Oswego State College with a teacher’s degree worked in Green NY School District for 34 years as the Wood Shop teacher.  Robert served in the United States Marine Corp. He loved racing cars especially at Watkin Glen where he won…

Linda Geers RN, FNP, PA was born in Johnson City NY, graduated from Wilson Memorial Nursing School, Syracuse University and Main University. Linda was an avid reader, was always thinking of everyone, we will always remember those birthday cards so gave to everyone listed.  She had a nurse’s heart. She enjoyed watching her husband race and especially her highlight of standing next to Paul Newman standing next to her at the racing scoring table. Linda was loved by all her patients with Dr. Blum and at Broome Developmental Center and the many teaching roles for Nurse Practitioners. Together Robert and Linda were inseparable and had a happy marriage of 61 year.  To them both we say thank you for your life and the love you both gave to all of us.

The Geers family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to hospices loving care of Haven Hospice, Lower Cape Fear and Lifecare and the Nursing Honor Guard of Brunswick County, there are so many loving angels that are too many to mention but with the greatest heart felt thank you.
