Roberta D (Felix) Kishbaugh

Roberta (Bobbie) Kishbaugh, age 75, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, passed away in her sleep, at home, in the early hours of the morning the day after Christmas, Tuesday, December 26, 2023 with her family by her side. She gave them the gift of one more Christmas together to create memories after just recently being released from hospice to make her dream of Christmas at home a reality. 

Bobbie was born in Berwick, PA, on May 22, 1948 and was the daughter of the late Rudolph (Rudy) and Elizabeth (Betty) Keefer Felix.

Bobbie is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Kishbaugh, of 57 years of marriage and daughter, Crystal Kishbaugh, Wilmington, NC.

Bobbie was known for so many things including her zeal for life, making friends quickly, thinking of others first, baking, culinary skills, kind soul, good heart, beautiful smile, laughter and love for her family and friends.  She enjoyed tennis, golf, bowling, the beach, and spending time with family and friends.  Bobbie was happiest when she was caring for her family and friends. She was fond of all animals, especially dogs, and they adored her.  She would often spend her early mornings watching the wildlife outside her windows.  Bobbie was a positive, kind, energetic, and inclusive person who many say lit up any room she entered with her beautiful smile and sparkling eyes.

Bobbie spent the majority of her life being an amazing wife, mother and friend.  She managed the entire household, including the yard, when Ron was away on his frequent out of town work assignments.  She was the go-to person to volunteer to plan, organize, chaperone, and drive both children and adult events.  Bobbie found time to volunteer at her daughter’s school, at her church and at Neighborhood Justice.  The home, basement, and backyard were often full of their and Crystal’s friends.  She had a way of welcoming everyone into her life, home and making them feel loved.  Her door was always open and she made entertaining look effortless.

Bobbie loved all holidays, especially Christmas.  She made sure the house was beautifully decorated and everyone’s favorite foods, cookies and pies were made with love.  She enjoyed sharing her food with family, friends and golf staff.  She kept the family traditions alive.  Every present was thoughtfully chosen and beautifully wrapped.  Bobbie made every effort to remember and celebrate the birthdays of all her family and friends and made them feel special.

Memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the Seaside United Methodist Church. A reception following the service will be held in the church fellowship hall.
