Robert (Bob) Arthur Swenson, 80, of Calabash. NC passed on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at his home with his family by his side. He is predeceased by his parents, Arthur Joel and Carol Mittendorf Swenson.
Bob was born in Ironton, Ohio on December 20, 1945. He graduated from South Hadley High School, South Hadley, MA and attended college at night until the age of 35 earning both his undergraduate and master’s degree, in business, at Western New England College.
He was the Safety Director for Scott Graphics, South Hadley, MA & Portland ME, Stanley Tools in Farmington, CT and American Can Company in Greenwich, CT. He started a business in Newington called Mobility Product’s, then went into a residential elevator and lifts business with a partner called Total Access until he retired in 2022.
Bob was an avid golfer and a member of Tunxis Golf Club in Farmington, CT, for many years. Bob rarely missed a sporting event his children were playing in and made many lifelong friends during those times.
Bob is survived by his wife, Carolyn Swenson, Calabash, NC; his son, Keith Swenson, & wife Jennifer (Cline) Swenson of Davenport, Florida; his daughter, Kathleen (Kate) Swenson, Milton, Georgia; his brother, Roy Swenson, & wife Linda Swenson of Westfield, MA; his sister, Rhonda Smith, Amherst, MA; two grandchildren, Paige & Randi Swenson and several nieces and nephews.
In his honor, donations can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and No Kid Hungry.
Funeral services will be private.
