Robert Leighton Anderson

Robert Leighton Anderson (Bobby), 29, of Calabash, NC peacefully passed away at home surrounded by family and friends, Monday February 2, 2026, following an eight-year battle with terminal brain cancer.

Bobby was born February 27, 1996, to Robert and Cabrina Anderson (Gallagher) at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.

After graduating from Norton High School, MA, Bobby earned a bachelor’s degree in photography at Bridgewater State University, MA where he also minored in history. He enjoyed competing in Airsoft and Military Simulation contests, making friends everywhere he went. Bobby loved to travel, making three trips to his father’s homeland of Australia, where he exercised his passion for the outdoors through photography.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Cabrina Anderson of Calabash; his five siblings, James Anderson of Onset, MA, Matthew Anderson of Lugoff, SC, Victor Anderson of Fairhaven, MA, Brian Anderson of Norton, MA, and Megan Anderson of Norton, MA, as well as extended family in both Australia and the U.S.A. He was predeceased by his brother, Benjamin Michael Anderson.

A celebration of Bobby’s life will take place at the Beulah Baptist Church, Calabash, NC on February 4th, 2026, at 5 PM.
