Rita Sandra Welch

Rita Sandra Welch was born February 12, 1952 in Toronto Canada. She passed February 1, 2026 in Miami Florida. Rita resided in Supply, North Carolina.

Rita had a bachelor degree in radiology and worked in the nursing field as a radiologist until she retired.

Rita was predeceased by her Father, John Arthur Taperts of Toronto, Canada, her Mother Victoria Vingris Taperts of Toronto Canada, her brother Arthur Taperts of Toronto Canada. Her partner, Sonny Boynkin of Supply North Carolina.

She is survived by her cousin, Anita Guyere of Latvia.

Rita loved to travel, see new places and learn the histories of them. Recently she started going on cruises where she got the opportunity to experience the Caribbean and the Mayan ruins. She loved food, and experiencing the different culinary cultures. She loved music, dancing, plays and shows. She was a ray of sunshine. When she walked into a room it was like a warm sunny summer breeze had come in with her. She always had this wonderful smile that enveloped everyone she came in contact with.

Rita was a very active member of multiple organizations within our community, including Lockwood Folly Women’s club, the Holden Beach Woman’s club, the VFW of Holden Beach, the Moose Lodge of Shallotte, the Red Hats and many others. She attended Sabbath Home Baptist Church in Supply, NC.

Being the kindhearted and caring woman she was, she also donated to numerous national organizations that help people and pets.
