Richard Charles Robeson, MSGT, USAF, Retired, age 80, of Supply, NC passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023 in the Universal Healthcare Nursing Center, Bolivia, NC.
Richard is the son of the late James “Jack” Daniel and Vay Bridgers Robeson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Howard W. Robeson and a sister, Barbara Rogers.
Richard began his military career in the US Navy Reserves where he recieved an honorable discharge and was honorably discharged, and he finally joined the Air National Guard and retired after earning the rank of Master Sergeant. He was very proud of his service which totaled just over twenty-eight and a half years.
He was also employed with Cigna Insurance Agency as an adjuster where he worked for twenty five years before his retirement. Still not ready to quit working, Richard worked a private contractor Auditor with several other insurance companies. He was also proud of being the first graduating class of UNC-Charlotte.
Surviving are a son, Michael Robeson and wife Wanda of Supply, NC; a daughter, Desiree Taylor and husband Charles of Supply; a grandson, Isaiah Robeson and a step-granddaughter, Elizabeth Taylor; a sister, Jeanette Lay of Candler; two brothers, James “Jimmy” Robeson and wife Jo, Gayle Robeson both of Gastonia, NC; and many nieces & nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM in the Wells Chapel of Faith at Forest Lawn Memorial Park followed by a graveside service with military honors, Saturday, May, 13, 2023 at 3:00 PM, in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1 Chapel of Faith Drive, Candler, NC 28715.
