Richard Nicoletti

Richard Thomas Nicoletti, Sr., 78, of Leland, NC formerly of New York City, NY, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, in the Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center, Wilmington, NC.

Born in Manhattan, NY on October 21, 1947, Richard was the son of the late Rose D. Nicoletti. He was also predeceased by a son-in-law, Mark Goodwill and grandson, Zachary Goodwill.

Richard believed in the value of hard work. He started working at an early age until the age of 77. He gave his all with quiet determination and pride. His dedication was matched only by his joy for life – especially his love for a good laugh. He could often be found watching his favorite comedians, bursting with laughter and sharing that joy with those around him. He also had a great love of music and enjoyed “singing” out loud.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 56 years, Diane L Nicoletti; their children, Richard “Lil Rich” Nicoletti and wife Meredith, Amy Goodwill, and Kristy West and husband Jerry; and grandchildren, Maxwell Nicoletti, Alexander Nicoletti, Kyle Goodwill, Sophia Goodwill, Andrew West, Emily West and James West.

Services will be conducted in New York at a later date.
