Richard Earl Ledet

Richard Earl Ledet, 69, of Bolivia, NC passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, Brunswick House, Bolivia, NC.

Born in Jacksonville, NC, on April 8, 1955, Richard was the son of the late Richard Paul and Rosa Lee Blocker Ledet.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Ledet; his son, Justin Walker Ledet, and wife, Savanna Cathryn Ledet; and his sister, Kathy Dozier, His stepson Joshua Overman Dustin Overman, grandchildren, Madeline Overman,Gage Overman,Lyla Overman,Reese Zehar ,Ellen Overman and Alyssa Overman.  

Richard was a lifelong lover of the culinary arts. From his early days in Louisiana's vibrant French Quarter, he developed an enduring passion for cooking, finding great joy not only in crafting delicious meals but also in sharing them with others. He brought these talents back to North Carolina, where he settled in Oak Island and became a cherished member of his community.

In addition to his love for cooking, Richard was deeply passionate about music, which filled his life with rhythm and joy. His creative spirit and warmth touched the hearts of all who knew him, and he shared his enthusiasm for both food and music with family and friends, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and uplift. He also had a love and passion for horticulture where he enjoyed his plants and gardening.

Though Richard is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the hearts and minds of those who loved him. He will be deeply missed, but the love and joy he gave to others will never be forgotten. 

Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, on January 18, 2025 in the Oak Island Masonic Lodge with Mr. James Flanigan officiating.
