Richard Charles Honsinger

Richard (Rick) Charles Honsinger, 70, of Calabash, NC went to his heavenly home with his wife by his side on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Center in Wilmington, NC following an extended illness.

Born in Buffalo, NY to the late Floyd Charles and Audrey Ann Kamholz Honsinger. He was a 1973 graduate of Maryvale High School in Cheektowaga, NY. He continued his education at Buffalo State University and graduated with an Engineering Degree. He worked at Royal Insurance for over 25 years and various other insurance companies before retiring to the beach.

Rick enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a very fun-loving attitude and was generous to a fault. Some of his happiest moments were spent on the beach with his wife and family. His granddaughter Olivia was the light of his life.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Peggy B. Honsinger; a daughter, Angela Spinelli of Fort Mill, SC; a sister, Cheryl Daubner of Cheektowaga, NY; a brother Gary Honsinger (Chrissi) of Tampa, FL; a granddaughter, Olivia Spinelli of Fort Mill, SC; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Life services are being planned for Buffalo, NY and Kannapolis, NC. These services will be announced on this site when complete.
