REGINALD GEYLER REEKS
October 21, 1929 – July 30, 2021
Reginald "Reg" Geyler Reeks was born in East Orange, NJ. He was preceded in death by parents Reginald and Ethel Reeks, and is survived by his wife Margaret "Marge". They moved from Omaha, NE, to Sunset Beach, NC, in 1993 and later resided in Carolina Shores, NC. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Mr. Reeks is also survived by four children with his pre-deceased first wife Marian, Deborah (Brian) Koswick of Malta, NY, Robert (Julie) of Omaha, Margaret (Tim) Streff of Omaha, Jeffrey Reeks of Bellevue, NE., and 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He also leaves a sister, Rosalie Vernon, of Doylestown, PA, and Sunset Beach, NC.
His career included six years with Allstate Insurance, 22 years with Junior Achievement, (JA) and five years with the American Association for Clinical Immunology and Allergy. Following his retirement, Mr. Reeks joined the "JA Pioneers," a group comprised of retired JA executives and staff personnel.
Mr. Reeks was a member of the Shriner’s Club, Elks Lodge, American Legion and VFW, and served in various leadership positions.
Mr. Reeks always enjoyed being near the ocean. His earlier interests included coaching youth sports and hunting. He later enjoyed social gatherings, writing, reading, puzzles, sports, and producing musical cd's for friends and family.
