Moore and Jennette Davis Moore Scoggins. She is survived by her paternal grandmother, Patricia Coyner Williams of Colorado; her loving mother, Lydia Moore of the home; her beloved son, Dale Coyner II, of the home, her loving brother, Daniel Coyner, of the home; her beloved nephew, Decimus Coyner of the home; the love of her life and father-in-heart of little Dale, Randy Dixon of Varnam Town; her uncle Brent Moore and wife Christy of Holden Beach; her aunt Mari Adonica Moya of Supply; first cousins Sarah Coyner of Colorado, Hannah Morris of Canada, Brent Moore of Leland, Rob Alvarado of Sunset Harbor, Jerry Alvarado of Ash, Lane Alvarado of Sunset Harbor, Adam Moore of Holden Beach, Sydney Moore Helms of Wilmington, and Jennetta Alvarado of Supply; eight first cousins once-removed, and a host of extended family and friends.
Bekah was born at home by water birth with a midwife in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was a talented writer, dancer, piano player, and singer who often made up her own songs and piano pieces as a young child with her keyboard. She loved doing nails, hair, and makeup, and as a child she was very creative in making her own clothing designs. She enjoyed drawing, coloring, and making anything creative and artistic–especially with children. A lover of animals, she was called the “Cat Whisperer” and as a child was known to rescue kittens and to raise them by hand like a pro. As a young child she could put her hands on anything that hurt others and take away the pain. She served valiantly as Junior Miss Brunswick County 2005 for eighteen months, and loved participating in dance performances with Ms. Valerie Taylor and the Brunswick School of Dance. Bekah participated in chorus classes at West Brunswick High, Loris High, and was chosen to sing in the coveted Mars Hill Choral Festival in her senior year of high school while attending West Stokes High. Bekah also assisted with makeup and stage managing when her mom was directing musicals and other performances on the job. She loved reading and doing science projects with her son and nephew, riding horses, skiing, and snowboarding. Bekah loved caring for children, especially her son and her nephew. Bekah had a big heart and cared deeply for everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by many.
A celebration of Bekah’s life will be held at 3:30 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Brunswick Islands Baptist Church. Family visitation will be held before the service from 2-3:30 pm at the church.
