Rebecca Ann (Babson) Long

Mrs. Rebecca Ann Long, age 69, of Shallotte, NC passed away on Thursday the twenty second of July 2021 in the Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center after a long illness.

Born in Columbus County, NC on the twenty sixth of April 1952, Ann was a daughter of the late James Bryant and Sudie Mae Griffin Babson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Pooley Simmons, siblings, Silas Warren Babson, Martha Dean Fowler, James Ogal Babson, Betty Jane Smith and Jackie Lane Babson.

Ann was a CNA and worker for many years as a healthcare professional who will be remembered for the compassionate care and dedication to her patients. Was also a longtime member of Shallotte Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her children, Bonnie Bruce (Steve), Matthew Hall, Jonathan Simmons, Joshua Simmons (Crystal); grandchildren, Kimberly Lauzon, Heather Olander (Steve Olander, II), Cory Coleman (Mackenzie Coleman), Gabrielle Hall, Cody Hall, Lakin King, Tiffany Bruce, Cartier Bruce, Cameron Bruce, Caleb Bruce; great grandchildren, Caleb Poindexter, Noah Poindexter, Jacob Poindexter, Lucas Olander, Jay Olander, Liam Long, Jesse Coleman; Siblings, Steve Babson (Debbie), Jerry Babson, Willie Babson, Lynda Babson, Richard Babson (Teresa).

Memorial services will be conducted at 2:30 PM, on Sunday, the 25th of July 2021 in the Shallotte Presbyterian Church with The Reverend Laura Viau officiating. A time of visitation will follow the service.
