Peggy J. Wallin, 95, of Calabash NC, formerly Cumming , Georgia, peacefully
passed away the morning of Monday, January 15th, 2024 following a time of
declining health. Born on February 27th, 1928 in Dale, Indiana. Peggy was the
daughter of Clarence and Helen Griffith Medcalf. In addition to her parents, she
was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Wallin.
Peggy leaves behind a legacy of compassion and generosity that enriched the
hearts of family and friends. She had a gift for hospitality, and a visit to her home
ensured delicious food, home baking served beautifully and prepared with love.
Known for her sharp mind , captivating story telling and journaling, Peggy was
quite entertaining. Cherished by those fortunate enough to be part of her life, she
created lasting bonds through her warmth and genuine care.
Surviving are her children, Candice Barfield (Dan), of Richmond , Va., Kim Moon
(Tim) of Calabash, NC and Sherry Vandyke of Calabash, NC. Peggy is also
survived by her sister, Joy Kendall (Merle) of Dale , Indiana, as well as her
grandchildren, Brett, Jordan, Zoe, Hunter, Bailey, Tori and Nicole and seven great
grandchildren, 6 nieces and 4 nephews.
Services will be conducted on Saturday, April 6, 2024, in the Kings Grant Presbyterian Church
Columbarium, 745 Little Neck Road, Virginia Beach, Va where she will be inurned with her husband.
