Otha "OK" Kendall Bellamy

Otha Kendall “OK” Bellamy, 92, of Calabash, NC passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday the eighth of November 2020.

He was born on the twenty second of October 1928 to the late Otha Plowden and Annie Clyde Edge Bellamy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Bellamy and a grandson, Jakob Bellamy.

After graduating high school, he attended Clemson College, where he studied agriculture. He married Mary Pearl Thompkins in 1947.

Surviving are his wife of 73 years, Mary; four children, Wayne Kendall Bellamy and partner Hope, Mary Anna Gore and husband Phil Gore, Joseph Kendall Bellamy and wife Elma Gray Bellamy, Sam Kendall Bellamy and wife Sarah R. Bellamy; a sister, Virginia Post; seven grandchildren, Brendan Bellamy, Alicia Gore, Alex Gore and wife Bridget, Ken Bellamy and wife Megan, Jason Bellamy and wife Tanya, Sallie Lun and husband A.J., Mary Katherine Davis and husband Mike; eight great grandchildren, Darby Dugan and husband Kyle, Kirby Gore, Noah Bellamy, Jesse Bellamy, Lillie Bellamy, Wells Bellamy, Lea Davis and Lacey Lun.

OK loved farming and taught Sunday School for sixty-two years at the Philadelphia Wesleyan Methodist Church and more recently at the Little River United Methodist Church. He was a man of faith, dreams, vision and hope. Many of his dreams he realized, many of his visions he accomplished, but his faith and hope never failed and remained a source of incredible strength throughout his life. 

A private service will be held at the farm.
