Nancy Elizabeth (Courter) Karnolt

Nancy Elizabeth Karnolt, 83, of Carolina Shores, NC passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, in the McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC following a brief illness.

Nancy was born in Glen Rock, NJ and was one of two children born to the late William A and Elsie Bender Courter. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, David Courter.

She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed making a home for her loving family. After graduating from Springfield College, she taught Physical Education in Glastonbury Connecticut where she met and married her husband of 58 years.  From Glastonbury to Simsbury, CT, to Troy, Michigan, to Granby, CT, to Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Winchester, CT, to Goshen CT.  

Throughout her working life, and while raising her boys, Nancy worked at a private school in northwest Connecticut where she was the lynch pin of all administrative activity.  Once retired, she settled in Carolina Shores, NC. taking with her the love of golf, tennis, Mexican Train and Cribbage.  During the past 9 years, Nancy built a strong network of friends through shared interests and a devotion to the Village Point Methodist church where she was also a member of the choir.

Surviving are her husband, Charles L. “Chuck” Karnolt; two sons, Charles William Karnolt of Mascotte, FL, Stephen Michael Karnolt (Christine) of Kingston, MA; four grandchildren, Martin Stephen Karnolt, Sophia Christine Karnolt, Charles Clayton Karnolt and Lauren Elisabeth Karnolt.

Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 29, 2025, in the Village Point Methodist Church, followed by a reception in the fellowship hall.
