Michael Dwayne Somersett, 57, of the Grissettown community, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025, in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center, Wilmington, NC following a time of declining health.
Michael was born in Wilmington, NC on November 16, 1967, and was a son of Donald M. Somersett and the late Judie Adams Somersett. In addition to his mother, Michael was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Mary and Adell Somersett.
He graduated from West Brunswick High School in 1986 and was a master mechanic. Michael's greatest joy came from being a father to his son Austin.
Surviving are his son, Austin Somersett; his mother, Tracy Fulford; a brother, Kevin Somersett and wife Denise; a sister, Donna Somersett Gormley; an aunt, Mary Dell Somersett Benton and husband Craig; nieces and nephews, Jordan Brown, Skylar Arduini, Logan Somersett and Noa Abigayle Somersett; and special friend, Danny Price, who was always there for him.
Memorial services are being planned and will be announced here when complete.
