Matthew "Matt" Michael Russo

Matthew Michael Russo, 42, of Supply, NC passed away unexpectly on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at his home.

Matt or “Miami” as he was known to his closest friends, was born in Edison, NJ on May 14th, 1980, to Gail Joyce Farawell Benedetto of Supply, NC and Michael Thomas Russo of Miami, Florida. He was in the construction business and was very talented at whatever he chose to do. Matt graduated from Coral Park High School, Miami, FL, and was an fierce Miami Dolphins fan. He enjoyed playing Little League Baseball with his step-father, Vito Benedetto; he also enjoyed his pet Indian Ringneck Parrot (Squeakers) and Cockapoo dog, (Popcorn).

Surviving are his beloved mother, Gail Benedetto; father, Michael T. Russo; a sister, Lisa Marie Rojas, 2 nieces, Stella Rojas, and Joy Rojas; 1 nephew, Robert Rojas of Miami, FL; maternal aunt, Debbie Farawell, maternal uncle, William R. Farawell; paternal uncle, Joe Russo.  

A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 PM on Friday, April 28, 2023 at the Southport Senior Center located at 1513 North Howe St Southport NC 28461.
