Mary Sattely, 74, of Calabash, NC passed away on the morning of Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at her home following a battle with cancer.
Mary was born in Fort Knox, KY on December 9, 1951, and was a daughter of the late Anthony Angelo and Annie Ruth Crane Ponderendolph. In addition to her parents, mary was predeceased by two brothers, Scott Burns and Nicholas Watson and a sister, Angela Ponderendolph.
Mary retired from the furniture industry after many years in the retail side of the business. She was a lover of many things, football (Rams and falcons), she even played fantasy football, loved to bowl, dance and sing karaoke. She loved being in the mountains, where she will eventually be scattered. She also loved animals like no other. She never met a stray that she didn't keep, one time she even hand raised a mouse she found under her bathroom cabinet for a year and a half!
She was an avid member of the midnight swim club and she was a friend to everyone she met. She was Grammy to all her grands.
Surviving are a daughter, Brandy Kassis and husband Nicholas of Calabash; two brothers, Ross Watson of Charlotte, NC, Jerome Watson of Mullins, SC; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Memorial services are being planned and will be announced here when complete.
