Mark Edward Gaskins, age 46, born in Morehead City, North Carolina was welcomed into the arms and presence of God. Mark was a "warrior" who bravely fought metastatic cancer for over a year. He will be immensely missed by those who knew and loved him.
From Mark’s parents:
On 6-22-2025, God's plan and purpose for our youngest son, Mark Gaskins has been completed on this earth. His spirit and soul have now been united with God, his Creator, whom he loved very deeply. A new assignment awaits Mark. He looks forward to continuing his God-ordained gifts of love, compassion, kindness, generosity, and so much more.
Over the past year, Mark has immensely appreciated, loved and cherished the outpouring of love and gifts from his many friends located throughout this great country. Quite often, many of you have shared happy memories or expressed to Mark your personal feelings for him. May God bless each and every one of you!
We never imagined that we would be writing this. It is important that we take one day at a time with regards to our mourning, grief and sadness. We are overwhelmed and are also trying to make all the decisions that need to be made after a loss like this. That said, when we as parents feel the time is right, we will advise if and when any future celebrations or events will take place. Meanwhile, please feel free to write a funny story or a loving comment. Thank you for loving him in your own special way.
Lastly, instead of flowers, we ask that you generously donate to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare (https://lifecare.org/donate) or even plant a tree in memory of Mark. This Hospice Care Center has been incredible, and we are forever grateful for the compassion, support and deep care.
Surviving are his loving parents, Mike and Marion Gaskins; a brother, Mike Gaskins, Jr. (Brenna); two sisters, Michelle Keener (Greg), Marcia Gaskins; and six nieces and nephews.
