Marianne Grace Furey

Marianne Grace Furey, age 82, of Southport, NC passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in the Lower Cape Fear Life Care, “Brunswick House”, Bolivia, NC following a time of declining health.

Marianne was born in Brooklyn, NY, on May 4, 1942, and was one of four children born to the late Robert and Agnes Horan Furey. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Robert Furey, James Furey and Rosemary Tonjis.

Marianne and her son Sean moved from Long Island, NY to Southport, NC in 1992.

Marianne worked as a Social Worker and in charge of the Crisis Team for the Brunswick County Schools until retirement in 2007. She was also a member of the American Red Cross and Kenyon International. But the best job of all was being a Mother to her son, Sean.

Marianne was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Surviving is her only son, Sean Robert Furey.
