Lloyd Edwin “Eddie” Bennett, 83, of Calabash, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at his residence.
He was born March 5, 1941 in Brunswick County to the late Robert Benjamin Bennett and Dorothy Reaves Bennett. Eddie was a lifelong member of Beulah Baptist Church in Calabash where he served as a deacon for over 50 years, and was recently recognized as deacon emeritus. He was a 1960 graduate of Shallotte High School and operated Bennett Farm Supply for 50 plus years. Eddie enjoyed gardening in his spare time.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Bennett; and granddaughter, Meagan Long.

Grandchildren: Adam Bellamy (Maggie), Ethan Long (Corey), Bradley Bellamy (Briana), Holly Caudill, and T.J. Kaishian
Great-Grandchildren: Adaline Bellamy and Henry Bellamy

A service to celebrate Eddie’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church in Calabash. Rev. David “DL” Little will officiate. Burial will follow at Manley Bennett Cemetery in Calabash with Dr. Foyd Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church. Those serving as pallbearers are his grandsons, and Henry Bennett, and Rod Long. Charlie Ray Vaught will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
