Kimberly (Watkins) Fluharty

Kimberly Watkins Fluharty, 56, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, with her family by her side.  

Kim was born on Westover Air Force Base, in Chicopee, MA on January 16, 1969, and was the daughter of Marvin Watkins, III and Sharyn Huffmon Watkins of Wilmington, NC.  

Kim spent 30 years as an EC teacher where she touched countless lives. After retiring, she became the director of the Mothers Morning Out Ministry at Camp United Methodist Church, continuing her lifelong devotion to children and families. Kim devoted herself wholeheartedly to her children and extended that same love to every child she met.  

Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband of 31 years, Michael D. Fluharty; her beloved children, Olivia Fluharty, Abby Fluharty and Noah Fluharty, all of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; and a brother, Marvin “Walker” Watkins, IV, and wife Tracy of Wilmington, NC. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, on Sunday, December 28, 2025, in the Camp United Methodist Church, with The Reverend Clay Parker and Pastor Jason L. Benton officiating. Interment will follow in the Mintz Cemetery.  

A time of visitation with the family will be from 2:00 until 3:00 PM, on Sunday, in the church.
