Kevin James Crowley, 75, of Calabash, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 29, 2025, at his home.
Born in Hoboken, N.J. on August 27, 1950, Kevin was one of four sons of the late Edward Joseph and Mary Lillian Byrnes Crowley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward J. Crowley and nephew Seth W. McClelland.
Kevin dedicated more than 50 years to the automotive industry in a variety of roles, most notably for 26 of those years as a territory manager for a specialized equipment manufacturer. His hard work and persistence earned him over 30 prestigious achievement and incentive awards. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Kevin will be remembered for the steadfast way he cared for his family and for anyone in need. He was a Hero to many, especially to his beloved wife. True to this spirit, he remained deeply committed to his Catholic faith throughout his life and served as a Third Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He was a man of remarkable ingenuity and resourcefulness, but his true legacy lies in his generosity, guardianship, and unwavering commitment to protect and provide for those he loved.
Kevin cherished his family above all else, and he lived with uncompromising integrity. He served as a GPS for others, helping them safely navigate obstacles and showing them how to chart a course toward success. He also found joy in the game of golf; cheering for college football, especially the Penn State Nittany Lions and his beloved Virginia Tech Hokies; celebrating his Irish heritage; and a meal at a “real” Jersey diner. He will be remembered as a dutiful and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, godfather, golf buddy, and friend who could always be counted on for strength, loyalty, and love.
He is survived by his loving and eternally grateful wife of 44 years, Mary Manning Crowley; a son, Matthew Crowley; three daughters, Amy Crowley Barron and husband Scott, Kathleen “Katie” Crowley, and Kasey Crowley; two brothers, John “Jack” Crowley and wife Marsha Nolan, and Gerard Crowley; two treasured grandchildren, Lauren Barron and Ryan Barron; goddaughter, Tara O’Neill; nieces and nephews, Brian Patrick, T.J., Heinz, Elizabeth, Seamus, Peter, River, Elena, Maggie, and Brendan; and his golf family.
The family will receive friends and visitors at Meadowlands Residence Center in Calabash, NC on Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 2:00–4:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 13, 2025, at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church in Shallotte, NC. Inurnment will follow in the church’s columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that donations be made in Kevin’s name to charities he passionately supported: Tunnels to Towers Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and First Tee.
