Kelvin Michael Babson

Kelvin Michael Babson, 59, of Little River, SC, formerly of Ash, NC, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024, at his residence. 

Born in Whiteville, NC on August 3, 1965, Kelvin was a son of the late Walter L. "Verney" and Loudella Simmons Babson. 

Kelvin attended West Brunswick High School. Kelvin was an accomplished heavy equipment operator. Kelvin always had an answer even if you didn’t have a question. Kelvin’s favorite saying, “If I tell you, it’s night, you better light your lantern.”  Maybe he knew he would be walking down a bright path one day.  

Surviving are two sons, McCray Babson, Kelvin Michael Babson, Jr.; a daughter, Chloe Rhinehart; a sister, Priscilla Chamberlin, and a friend, George Stanaland.

Graveside services will be in the New Britton Baptist Church Cemetery, Ash, NC, on February 23, 2025, at 2:00pm.

The family is asking to plant a tree in remembrance of Kelvin Babson.
