Kellen Gene Holden, beloved husband & father, passed away unexpectedly on February 09, 2026, at the age of 84.
A lifelong man of integrity, Kellen built his life and career on hard work and honesty. As a retired tugboat captain and owner of H&R Towing, he earned the respect of everyone who worked alongside him. He was known as a man of his word — someone people could trust without question.
Above all else, family was the center of his world. He was the best father, always present, always supportive, and always willing to help others in their time of need. He touched many lives through his generosity, guidance, and steady strength.
Kellen was also known for his incredible sense of humor. He loved making people laugh and could bring light to any room. His laughter and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Kellen was born in Southport, NC on November 28, 1941, and was the last of eight children born to the late John T. and Elneda Fulford Holden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Allen Holden; five sisters, Roxie Broxton, Betty “Bobbie” Ivey, Ella Ray Robinson, Odessa Payden, Louise H. Danford; two brothers, Roy Holden and Johnny “JT” Holden.
Surviving are his wife, Delores Holden; a son, Ronnie Lamar Holden; two daughters, Sheila Renee Holden, Kelley Jean Holden; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and many friends too numerous to mention.
