Kathleen Ellen Clair

Kathleen “Kathy” Ellen Clair, 59, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC passed away peacefully at her home on July 20, 2024.

Kathy was born in Worcester, MA on October 23, 1964, and was one of four children born to the late Carl R. and Rose Mary Washwell Clair. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Beth.

Kathy was an accomplished small business owner where she owned and operated “Want To Go Out”, a dog walking and pet-sitting service. She also was a Real Estate Broker in the State of North Carolina.  A graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Kathy studied Marketing, and minored in French.  She worked for many years for companies such as Cumberland Farms and TJ Maxx providing marketing and advertising services.  When she yearned for a simpler pace, she found her new home and friends in coastal Carolina.

Surviving Kathy are her two brothers, Jim Clair and wife Jenny,  of Maine and Robert Clair of Massachusetts. The family wishes to especially thank John and Sandy Braddy, Lower Cape Fear LifeCare (hospice), ComfortKeepers, the congregation of Asbury Methodist Shallotte, and all of the dog and cat families that enhanced Kathy’s life.

In keeping with her wishes, a private gathering of family and friends will be held in her honor.
