Joseph “Jay” Andrew Grady, Jr., 79, of Sunset Beach, NC passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024, in the Brunswick Health & Rehab facility following a time of declining health.
Jay was born in Brookline, MA on January 13, 1945, to the late Joseph A. Grady, Sr., and Elizabeth Belden Grady. In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by a daughter, Erin Grady Yount , a grandson, Shane Grady, and a brother, Michael Grady.
Jay was a 1963 graduate of Dedham High School, Dedham, MA. Jay was an entrepreneur, and was the owner of Crowne Pools of Baltimore, MD, that he started from the ground up. Those who knew him well, knew Jay to always be on the phone, driving sales or closing a deal. Jay’s first love was for his family, his four daughters, twelve grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. As an active member of his church, and in his final years, Jay volunteered his time counseling young adults with drug and alcohol addiction.
Jay is survived by daughter, Lisa Parr and her husband Francis Carey of Brookline NH. Grandchildren David Parr and his wife Madeline, Josh Parr, Rachel and her husband Nathan Duplease as well as their children Cooper and Caleb. Daughter Meoghan Veader and her husband Lee Veader Of Exeter NH, grandchildren Lee Michael Veader, Ian Veader, Maisie Veader, Madison Veader. Daughter Colleen Wong of Baltimore MD and granddaughter Mackenzie. Grandchildren Reagan Yount, Zander Yount, Kai Grady, as well as brother, Philip Grady of Sunset Beach NC, sister Elizabeth and her husband Jack Sullivan of Bel Air MD and several nieces and nephews.
To honor his wishes memorial services will be held privately at a later date.
