Joseph James Gore, 68, of Calabash, NC passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center, Bolivia, NC following a lengthy illness.
Joseph was born in Brunswick County, NC on February 1, 1957, and was a son of the late Lloyd and Edna Dupree Gore. Joseph was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Gore, Raphell Gore, also a sister, Christine Hewett.
Joseph was a lifelong resident of Brunswick County; He graduated from West Brunswick High School and was a member of the legendary basketball team that was 1975 undefeated state champions.
Surviving are two sons, Joseph Stanley and wife LaChella, Jimmy Gore and wife Krystle; a step-son, Bennie Stanley; brothers, Ricky Gore and wife Barbara Ann, Grand and wife Lucinda, Ardell Gore and wife Carolina; a sister, Delois Jenrette; and 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00PM, on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the Embracing Christ Fellowship Church, 5051 Northwest Drive, Shallotte, NC with Bishop Michael Frink officiating.
