Johnny Edward Belk, 81, of Supply, NC passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 18, 2023 at his home.
Johnny was born on October 18, 1941 in Fayetteville, NC and was the son of the late Robert Thomas Moser and Flora Smith Moser.
Along with parents, preceding him in death is his sister, Sandra B Suggs and niece Julie Harris.
He is survived by his adoring wife of 61 years, Barbara Dunn Belk; two daughters, Shari Belk of Goldsboro, NC, and Wendy Birchfield (Kevin) of Laurinburg, NC; a sister Martena Haire (Randy) of Hamlet, NC; a brother R.B. Moser (Ann) of Laurinburg, NC; grandchildren, Trace Birchfield of Raleigh, NC and Haven Birchfield of Southport, NC; several nieces, great nieces, and great nephews.
For many years, Johnny proudly served as a Sergeant with the Scotland County Sheriff's Department. After his career with the Sheriff's Department he was a Commercial Property Manager in Laurinburg, NC from which he retired. After retirement, Johnny and Barbara moved to their forever home in Supply, NC. He attended Sharon Methodist Church. Johnny kept active by volunteering with the Brunswick County Sheriff's Department, and with Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center. Johnny lived his life to the fullest. He and Barbara enjoyed spending time traveling in their RV, in which they spent many winters in Florida. He enjoyed exercising, riding his bike, walking, and fishing. He had a love for music, especially classic country music and bluegrass. He enjoyed watching sports, and was a Carolina Panthers fan. Johnny's sense of humor and love for life will be missed by all that knew him.
The family welcomes you to join them for a Celebration of Johnny's Life on Sunday August 27, 2023 at Sharon Methodist Church in Supply, NC. Visitation with the family will begin at 2 PM, with services following at 3 PM. Pastor Jim Pegan will officiate the service.
