Jerry Alexander Beck

Jerry Alexander Beck passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, at the age of 83.

Jerry’s life was centered around the people and animals he loved most. Among his greatest joys was his partner of 28 years, Tom Skeens, who preceded him in death. He also deeply cherished his family and had a special love for animals, especially dogs and cats. Over the years, Jerry rescued and adopted many pets, giving each of them a loving and caring home.

In his spare time, Jerry loved to read and research a wide variety of topics. He had a deep appreciation for quoting Shakespeare and possessed a remarkable wealth of knowledge that many compared to an encyclopedia. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sisters, Susan Goins (Jimmy) and Christina Butler, both of Greensboro, North Carolina.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, T.G. Beck and Doris Wilson; his stepfather, Bob Wilson; his siblings, Joyce Beck and David Beck; and his stepbrother, Ron Wilson.

Jerry once shared that their grandmother’s favorite expression for those who had gone before was “Precious Memories.” His family and friends will now say the same as they lovingly remember him.
