Janet Baldwin

Janet Rock Baldwin, 83, of Southport, NC, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at her home.

Janet was born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 3, 1942, and was a daughter of the late James Burnham and Henrietta Foote Thames Rock. In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her brother Steve and her son Charles.

She loved teaching and was a retired educator after many years in the classroom. Janet loved plants and flowers and all growing things.  But above all else, Janet loved animals of all shapes and sizes be they cats, dogs, deer, squirrels or opossums. No hurt or hungry or stray animal went untended or unaided when she could help it.  Her compassion and love of living creatures was guiding force in life.

Surviving are her son, Michael James Baldwin of Asheville, NC and her granddaughter, Charleigh Barret Baldwin of New Bern, NC.

In honor of her wishes, memorial services will be private.
