Jane (Spaugh) Marlow

Jane Spaugh Marlow, 63, of Shallotte, NC, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center, following a period of declining health.

Jane was born in Davie County, NC, and was a daughter of the late Arthur Columbus Spaugh, Sr., and Rose Marie Cope Spaugh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur C. Spaugh, Jr.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Michael D. Marlow, Sr.; her children, Michael D. Marlow, Jr. (DeAnn) and Tina Marie Hewett (William); and her three grandchildren whom she dearly loved, Kirsten Thompson (Luke), Cody Marlow, and Brantley Marlow.

Also surviving are two brothers, Mickey Spaugh (Joyce) of Germanton and Howard Spaugh of South Carolina; two sisters, Barbara Gillaspie of Advance and Teresa Masters (Travis) of Advance; sisters-in-law Dawn Allen (Kenny), Candy Marlow, and Terrie Freedle (Dale); brother-in-law Mickey Marlow (Karen); along with many nieces and nephews.

In honoring her wishes, a private celebration of life was held by the family.
