James David Porter

James D Porter died at his Sunset Beach home on March 30, 2025.  Jim moved to Sunset Beach in 2017, and very much enjoyed his Shoreline Woods home and the friendship of his neighbors and the companionship of his dogs. 

Jim entered the U.S. Marine Corps after graduation from DePauw University (‘62) and worked for the CIA before commencing an almost 30 year career with the Procter and Gamble Company in Cincinnati, OH.  His initially retired to the Deep Creek Lake area of Garrett County, MD in 1996.  His happiest memories of family and friends and dogs anchored on life at the lake. 

A private family gathering and burial will occur at Deep Creek Lake.

Jim is survived by his brother Roy, Jr and his sons John, Stephen, and David.
