James R. Muldowney, 69, of Haverhill, MA, born on June 18, 1956, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, with his two sisters by his side at the Good Samaritan Hospital (Vitas Hospice), West Palm Beach, FL following a long battle with cancer.
Jim was a retired US Navy veteran, who proudly served 20 years. Jim then went on to be a Merchant Marine, in which he proudly served another 20 years. Jim’s life has always been on the water, which was his happy place and what he loved.
Upon retiring from the Navy and Merchant Marines, Jim went on to volunteer for FEMA and Operations BBQ Relief (OBR). Jim loved volunteering and especially with OBR. They would serve hundreds of meals to people affected by natural disasters. Jim met so many lifelong friends through his volunteering efforts within both the organizations. Jim’s biggest passion in life was helping family and friends.
He will be greatly missed by family and all the friends he has left his mark on.
Memorial services will be private.
