James Wesley Greenlee, age 34, of Supply, NC, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
James was born in Morristown, TN, on September 30, 1991, and was the son of Renee Wilson Catoe and the late David Greenlee. In addition to his father, James was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Greenlee; his maternal grandparents, R.C. and Kay Wilson; his paternal grandparents, Wesley and Juanita Greenlee; his uncle, Ernest Pope; and his aunt, Pamela Bowman.
James was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Emilie Greenlee; his three children, Hayden, Journee, and Jeslynn Greenlee; his mother, Renee Catoe (Walter Catoe); his brothers, David Greenlee (Abby Turkett) and Logan Mills (Jessie Graves); his uncle, Donnie Fisher; his nephew, Brenden Greenlee; and many special cousins, extended family members, and friends too numerous to mention.
He was truly the life of the party, bringing joy, laughter, and light wherever he went, with a smile and spirit no one could forget. James lived life with passion—riding his motorcycle, collecting fresh sneakers, cheering on his Georgia Bulldogs, and showing up with unmatched style and personality. He didn’t just wear tattoos; he lived them, cherishing the stories, the art, and the artist he considered family. Known for his legendary shrimp burgers and his gift for bringing people together, he created countless moments of connection and happiness. Though his time was far too short, he leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, strength, and unforgettable memories.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1p.m. on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the Provision Company of Holden Beach, 1343 Cedar Landing Road SW, Supply, NC.
