Jacklyn Chestnut Vaught, 77, of Sunset Beach, NC passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at her home with family by her side following a long illness.
Mrs. Jacklyn was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 11, 1948, and was a daughter of the late, Jack Cotton and Chestine Chestnut Cotton. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of over 47 years Wilbur Vaught, a sister, Dollene Lane, and brother Kirk Cotton.
She was a longtime member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Live Oak Congregation, Shallotte, NC. She was fully devoted to her ministry, teaching people about Jehovah God and His promises for the future.
Surviving are her children, Jack Vaught (Sable), Wilbur Vaught (Elaine), Sharon Ash (Ben) and Timothy Vaught (Hyleas); a sister, Delphia Talley; two brothers, Maurice Cotton, Zachary Cotton; her grandchildren, Shaquan, Kwamane, Xavier, Jackston, Timothy, Jr., Genevieve, Micah, Keely; and great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Kinsley, True, Jorden and Mila.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 9, 2026, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 5909 Ocean Highway, West, Ocean Isle Beach, NC.
