Harold Kirkland Hughes, Jr.

Harold Kirkland “Kirk” Hughes, Jr., 77, of Shallotte, NC passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, in the Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center following a time of declining health.

Born in Horry County, SC, on October 5, 1947, He was a son of the late Harold K. Hughes, Sr., and Dorothy M. Lossett Hughes.

“Kirk” was retired as owner and operator of Hughes Enclosures, and was a proud veteran of the US Army, having served as a Staff Sergeant in the Viet Nam War.

Surviving are his longtime companion, Agnes Hewett; a son, Rustie Hughes and wife Katy Beth; two sisters, Pat Dunnewind and husband Frank, Tarrie Shelby and husband Benjamin; and a host of extended family and friends.

To honor his wishes, memorial services will be private.
