Glynna Belle Gibbs Redwine, age 92, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026 at her home with beloved family by her side.
Glynna was born in Duncan, OK, on February 8, 1934, and was the oldest child of Herman Bently Gibbs and Irene Cora Dobkins Gibbs. She graduated from Central High School, Marlow OK in 1952. Glynna almost always worked in Insurance or finance. She became employed at Ft. Sill in Lawton, OK, in 1966. Then at the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base after relocating from Lawton, OK in 1976. She worked there and implemented the Aviation Management Accounting System. After her husband Ruffin Redwine passed away, she relocated to West Minster, Colorado for a few years. She then returned to North Carolina, in Gastonia, and later to Ocean Isle, where she enjoyed retirement, working in her yard, visiting her family in Oklahoma, sewing, quilting and cooking. She loved her family fiercely and was always helping not only family but others as well.
Glynna was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Irene Gibbs, sister, Anna Klien, a daughter, Lee Anne Redwine, a granddaughter, Andrea Stumblingbear, and great grandson, Robbie Carter.
Surviving are her children, Vonetta Stumblingbear, (Al) of Ocean Isle Beach; Darrel Overstreet of Ocean Isle Beach; Duane Overstreet, Clover, SC and adopted daughter, Susan Scott of Colorado Springs, CO; a brother from another mother, Kyle Caison, Holden Beach; grandchildren, Jocelyn Hayden (Doyle), of Shallotte; Nicole Stumblingbear (Paul Whitley) of Fayetteville, NC; Micah Stumblingbear (Jennifer) of Bolivia; Codi Hardin (Jason) of Clover, SC; Isaac Overstreet (Morgyn) of Arden, NC; Jessica Underwood of Charlotte, NC; Ephraim Overstreet of Clyde, NC; great-grandchildren, Geoffrey Wahwassuck (Brittany) of Boone, NC; Christopher Carter Jr., of Killeen, TX; Andrea Hunsinger (Kalen) of Fayetteville, NC; Laney Carter of Fayetteville, NC; DJ Hayden, of Shallotte; Richard Stumblingbear (Alysa) of Albemarle, NC; Logan and Tinsley Stumblingbear of Bolivia, NC Jaden, Zuri, and Finn Hardin of Clover, SC. Also surviving are her great-great grandchildren, Milo Adams of Fayetteville, NC; Marliegh Wahwassuck of Boone, NC; Evelyn Hunsinger of Fayetteville, NC; Bentley Hansen, Arden, NC, Hannah Underwood, and Zoey McComb of Ocean Isle, her siblings, Bill Gibbs of Blacksburg, VA, Bob Gibbs (Sandy) of Oklahoma City, OK, Phylip Gibbs (Gail) of Guthrie, OK, James Gibbs, Lawton, OK and brother-in-law, Glen Klien of Duncan, OK.
Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside, on Sunday, March,8, 2026, at 3:00 PM, where Glynna will be buried beside her daughter, Lee Ann in the Mintz Cemetery, Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Reverend James Grissett will officiate the service.
Honorary pallbearers will be Darrel Overstreet, Duane Overstreet, Micah Stumblingbear, Richard Stumblingbear, Logan Stumblingbear, Doyle Hayden, Paul Whitley, Geoffrey Wahwassuck, Isaac Overstreet; DJ Bayden.
