Gloria "GiGi" Dale Suggs

Gloria “GiGi” Dale Suggs, 69, of Ocean Isle Beach, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 22, 2026, in the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, SC.

GiGi was born in Horry County, SC on December 29, 1956, and was one of eight children born to the late George Benjamin and Theatus Ellen Lee Suggs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Billy Suggs, Earl Suggs, Helen Hewett, Sallie Carmichael and Linda Anderson.

Gloria was an educator and worked most of her career for Brunswick County Schools at Waccamaw School in Ash, NC. She also was a school bus driver for over 35 years.

Surviving are her daughter, Penny King of Ocean Isle Beach; a granddaughter, Isabelle King and fiancée Shane Barton; brothers, George Leroy Suggs and Sammy Suggs. She also leaves a host of extended family, friends and the many students who she made a very lasting impact on throughout her life.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, June 26, 2026, in the Old Shallotte Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 27, 2026, in the Mintz Cemetery, Ocean Isle Beach, NC with The Reverend Landis Lancaster Officiating.

Pallbearers will be Alan King, John King, Jon Michael Fulwood, Danny McKeithan, Joseph Suggs, Shane Barton, and Evan King.
